Frequently Asked Questions
For CLAT PG, focus mainly on judgments from the past 5 years, especially those delivered by Constitution Benches and benches led by the Chief Justice of India. Landmark Supreme Court cases asked repeatedly in past exams should also be prioritised. Select High Court rulings may be included if they triggered legal debate or led to significant policy changes.
To prioritise judgments for exams:
-
Start with landmark constitutional cases.
-
Cover recent (last 5 years) SC judgments on major legal issues.
-
Focus on those mentioned in the syllabus or previous year papers.
Reading only headnotes gives a quick overview, but it is not enough. You should understand:
A landmark judgment is a court decision that sets a new legal precedent or significantly interprets the Constitution or laws, influencing future cases and legal understanding.
A case is important for your exam if:
-
It’s frequently cited in law school or coaching material
-
It altered or clarified existing law
-
It’s listed in the syllabus or appeared in past papers
This course is exhaustive yet concise, covering landmark judgments from 2018 to 2025 and upcoming, including the most recent Supreme Court rulings. It is structured to help law students, competitive exam aspirants, and legal professionals grasp complex judgments effectively.
Each judgment is broken down into:
- Case Background
- Key Legal Issues
- Court’s Reasoning & Ruling
